Botanical Beauty

I love the idea of botanical gardens. I have never been to one myself (something I certainly intend to change one day) but the thought of being surrounded by all that wonderful green instantly makes me calm and peaceful.

I always imagine visiting on a hot, but breezy day. And, after a long walk around admiring all the beauty, finding a perfectly kept area of grass where I would lie in the sun and read a good book. I also imagine creamy ice creams and cute summer dresses!

Here are some images I found from Getty. I encourage you to let your imagination run wild.

Botanical Garden, Atlanta

Pampelmousse Gardens, Mauritus

Tropical Botanical Gardens, Hawaii

Lovely! I’ve been to the botanical gardens here in Atlanta a few times and it is just as wonderful as you described. I hope you get a chance to go very soon!!

We are fortunately to have a wonderful public park in Portland - free - that has gorgeous flowers, tower trees, meandering paths and hiking trails, and all the grass patches you could want. It’s heaven…when it’s not raining.

Oh, get thee to a botanic gardens :) There are such restorative powers in nature. I love being around plants and greenery. I used to be quite a gardener, but now my paper/mixed media life seems to take all my time; the weeds are having quite a romp here. Wash DC is quite close to us and it a wonderful spot to visit anytime of year. Thank you for your botanical touch today, so very nice, super lily pads amongst the other lovely pics!

What wonderful photos! I LOVE all foliage, and this past spring break was my first botanical garden experience. It was grand!

Thanks for sharing!

I love this post. It makes me think of Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania here in the US, which is one of my most favorite places, maybe I should post about it. :)

and thanks for your comment–definitely watch Elizabethtown right away, tell me what you think!

I love the botanic gardens in Glasgow, many an afternoon has been spent photographing and sketching in there, followed by a picnic in the gardens afterwards as a treat!

Don’t you just love nature! I’m sorry I haven’t visted in a while. The warm weather pulls me away from the computer and I can’t keep up as well as I might like. I’ll be back tomorrow. :) Love your pics!

you should check out the gardens in melbourne, australia definitely! it’s so lovely there

Lovely pics! I always go to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. It’s just in the city which is about 30 mins from where I live. I’ve had numerous picnics and naps there - it’s a wonderful place!

Your lovely photos reminded me to get the ball rolling on gardening! Come over and take a look!
